The vault Jean Saint

broc_liande_0491Undoubtedly founded by the Hospital ones of about Midsummer's Day of Jerusalem, it is thought that the vault belonged at the origin with the knights about Templiers. That they are the Hospital ones or Templiers, the moved back and wild site was favourable with the military religious orders.

During the One hundred Year old war one locked up English prisoners in the old hermitage (ruined today) surrounding the vault. This hermitage and especially the long flagstones of schist which level the ground, add to the magic of the atmosphere. Downwards, with the hollow of a hedge, the fountain traditionally related to the worship of Midsummer's Day is. Formerly, one came in procession on June 24.

The church is perhaps posed on an old stone quarry….Let us say how the tailors left for a very long time!
Beautiful place in any case.
There is under the door a drain dug in the stone, which leaves think that there was a source inside.
And on the furnace bridge (seen by a window, the church is closed of course) a beautiful pattée cross.broc_liande_048
