The Saint-Valérien church of Tournus
Regarded as a vault of the abbey intended to honour Holy Valérien, primitive owner of Tournus martyrized in IIème century, it was undoubtedly one of the first parish churches of Tournus. There remains today only the nave, arched in broken cradle. To notice: the superb gate, with its pilasters grooved with the antique and the effects of polychromy of the arc.
Near the Abbey, this church belonged to another monastery, former to that of the monks of Saint-Philibert (those came from Noirmoutier after a long and animated voyage). Property of the City, it is currently rented with an antique dealer, famous specialist in medieval furniture.
