Notre-Dame of Vernusses

Notre-Dame de Vernusse is a virgin in majesty in drowning of XIIème century. It is 72 cm high. Until the revolution, it was always venerated in the young elm or it was discovered. However, Vernusse comes from “vern”, which wants to say alder… It is for the moment in a small vault, in the middle of the hamlet of Vernusses, on the commune of Bresnay. Saint-Bathélémy church of Bresnay

From the Middle Ages, the history of Besnay is related to that Souvigny. The parish belongs to the chatellenie of Verneuil and the old diocese of Clermont. The St. Bartholomew's Day Massacre church comprises a nave of tois spans and two collateral. The apse is flanked of two absidioles. The plan in was altered several times.
