Stone of sacrifices of Biesse
In the Gorges of the Loire, the stones with basin are numerous.
The
cups, basins and basins dug in the granite rocks are at the origin of
legends where intervene of the imps, of the fairies, the devil as well
as the saints (especially Saint Martin's day) and the Virgin Mary.
On
the island of Grangent, the stone with basin always visible and filled
with rainwater would have been used for the Virgin Mary who washed the
langes of Jesus there.
At Echandes, certain rocks present furrows curved in shoe which according to the tradition “attest”
the presence of the devil.
Between
Boulain and Dorier in the wood of Châtelard, the stone of the
Repurchase, enormous 2 height m roller and 3 m broad evokes the
sacrifices as the Beneytière stone of Saint-Maurice-in-Gourgois.
The
rocks enjoyed like the plants, according to the popular tradition, of
the possibility of growing ad infinitum. The stones which pointed in
the kitchen on the beaten ground ground as those which obliged the
ploughman to make a turning were regarded as a fate. The ploughman was
good aware to think that it was useless to extract them or to cut down
them since they were going to push back of more beautiful!
The
stones also had the possibility of moving. As for the objects which
disappeared or changed place, they proved the presence of facetious
imps who ingéniaient themselves to give additional work to the
housewife.

The
stone with the sacrifices of Biesse is located just on the heights of
the Loire Valley. The way to traverse to reach it is not as simple as
it does not appear to with it. The stone photographs above belong to
this advance. There are others of them, as this place where the way is
divided into two on each side of a rock exposure. It seemed me to find
the part reserved to the women and that reserved to the men,
laevorotatory for the ones, dextrogyre for the others.
A guard in the middle of the two ways…
Then
the doors which one notices more present at us, after having made the
turn of the site which one approached by bottom, as if one went up of
the Loire.
The site is remarkable, by the beauty and the serenity which emerges some.
The
stone is dug of a rather deep cup, approximately 25 cm, and of several
drains, the first leaving towards the east being divided into two, on a
side towards the north of the stone, the other towards the south, and
the other leaving directly towards the south.
The
stone seems to work as harmonisator. It was also used as place of
worship, and must have a function of cure. In fact, each one among us
found what on the spot to satisfy the improvement of its evils.
While
leaving, after having thanked, we passed by another door which we had
not noticed while arriving. It ammenés us towards the vegetable guard…
Beautiful
tree planted there, you have to souffir well when the lightning fell on
you. But you remained a good companion, and a marvellous guard.
If I had more time, I would go in your arms so that you tell me the history of your countryside.
The crowned thicket
Always on the commune of Biesse, with a few meters of the stone to the sacrifices, here the “crowned thicket”…
After
makehaving made the turn of it, we noticed in the meadow a line marked
in grass. Crowned network? Its width was several meters…
The place is connected to the stone of the sacrifices. And seems to
have a close relationship with water. This site has a signature of
250.000, the Lady… (you will find the stone with the sacrifices right
in the alignment of perforated stone of the thicket, on the other side
of the meadow)
It works on the female genital apparatus, astonishing, not?
