The castle of Urquart, dates from the XII E century but the headland was occupied since prehistory seems it. It belonged to the defensive line of Great glenn and have an active and bloody share in the formation and the development of Scotland, dixit the sign which presents the site. In 1692, on governmental order, it was destroyed to counter any occupation jacobite. 

In 565 of our surface, Saint Columba returned visit to the lord of the place, Brude, and saw a marine monster in the log. The legend had been born. To attach to the legends of dragons and vouivre?

Always it is that the Scot being able to play Scotland the brave man with the bagpipe on one of the walls of the castle gave me not badly shivers…
