Plomor and his megaliths
On
the chart of the megaliths of Brittany one is surprised to note the
great number of monuments existing on the Bigouden country. The only
commune of Plomeur has a score of classified prehistoric sites.
In Penmarc' H close to the prehistoric museum of Porz-Carn are gathered many menhirs and steles as well as a burial with two corridors discovered in the common neighbors. In 1866, one counted more than 700 megaliths… Dommage….
Not
far from the borough of Plomeur draws up the Torch (Breton “torchenn”
meaning “seat”.) It is about an enormous rock, separated from the firm
ground by a called deep crack “the jump of the monk”.
The rocky outcrop of the Torch marks the end of immense bay of Audierne. This paradise of slips gathers the followers of surfing and the funboard.
Beg
year Dorchen is a formed whole megalithic of a dolmen with
compartmentalized room and corridor of more than 6000 years prolonged
by a more recent excentric shady walk.
The
dolmen with corridor and room compartmentalized laid out in T of
Kérugou, always on the commune of Plomeur. It is a dolmen with cabinet
side. The higher flagstone is maintained by a carved stone probably
coming from the neighbouring vault.
The excavations of 1876 gave ceramics decorated with vertical veins characteristic of the style known as of very widespread “Kérugou” in the south of Brittany. Age: approximately 5000 years, final Neolithic era. (Waraezplomeur.com)
The
current headlight of Eckmühl is the third headlight of Penmarc' h. the
headlight was built in accordance with the will of the marchioness of
Blocqueville, girl of Louis Nicolas Davout, Prince d' Eckmühl. The
construction of the headlight started in 1893. It returned in activity
in October 1897.
the inauguration was deferred to October 17 because of the large Fair of Bridge the Abbot. But that did not prevent the festival: dawn serenade, race of bicycles, popular banquet, regattas, reception. But the apotheosis was at 5 P.m. 00 when, for the first time, Eckmühl at sea addressed its pencil of light to all the bâteaux ones. The festival was completed by a dinner with, with the menu:
