Le Puy, entries

polignac_177A staircase of 134 steps, which is continued under the porch, emerges under the nave. This staircase occupies all the width of the building during the first two spans, then narrows not to have but that of the principal nave more during the two following spans against the walls of which the doors out of carved wooden were placed, which were formerly on the frontage. They are called the “doors of cedar” although they are out of wood of pine. They date from the XII ème century are to you the only carved Romance doors of this kind in France, inspired by Eastern art. The framing of the doors contains Arab characters in coufic writing which, according to the scholar Egyptien Ahmad Fikry, repeat the invocation Mâ Châllah: ” here are what God wanted well ".

The staircase ends now in a stage where, until 1780, opened the Dorée door. On each side, two red porphyry columns frame the entry. It is known that they come from the primitive Roman temple. Behind the door, seventeen steps led to the center of the nave. One led between two pillars, exactly opposite the high altar and the black virgin. What allowed a monk (the Theodore brother… the named good) of saying that “one entered the church by the navel and that one left there by the two ears. ” (Wikipedia)

“To borrow the passage of the navel of the cathedral is to undergo a new childbirth, renaitre symbolically with the true life which exemption the black virgin, and to reinstate the maternal centre, i.e. to carry out at the same time the opposite way of the birth bus while penetrating in the sanctuary one turns over in “original ténebre the” from which comes any source from life and any light. Initiatiquement, the lesson which one can release is that the birth is a death in oneself and death a rebirth on another plan of conscience” (Derderian)

In arising by the ears, it is to have carried out the contact with the divine one, crowned, the universal cosmic one… It is to have been informed of the breath which generates the Verb, the Word, the Orale initiation, paramount which does not need more the book nor of the writing… It is hearto have heard… (France-secrecy)

Unfortunately, Mgr De Galard made seal the passage in 1781. It gave draughts… Yes, in the brain, since there was not large thing between the two ears of this Mister… (not, I malicious… But, of the times, that am made good of the good!) (that makes me think that I would put it well in the same bag with that which removed the labyrinth of Amiens… oups, scuzez)

The large staircases were reserved to the bishops and to the people. In the North-East, the holy porch Jean, close to the baptistry of which it bears the name, received the kings and the princes. In south-east, the porch of For (of Latin forum, that Latin had installed in this place) shelters the papal door. The small square is supported by a vertiginous wall containing the vestiges of the Gallo-Roman enclosing wall.P1020775__1600x1200_

The porch of For dates from the XIII ème century. On the architectural level, it rests on blocks of basalt of Roman origin. These stones are recognizable by the notch in their center which premettait their catch by lifting gear. The side columns known as are gauffrées.

Two doors give access to the church. the papal door, reserved to the pontiffs, is largest. On the massive pillar, one finds a siren bifide, accompanied by a binocular.  Thus the message is clear, there are four water currents crossing under the porch. P1020773__1600x1200_polignac_188

One can also notice a telamon. (The porch of For is a cosmic cupola of square plan at the base, the ground, and whose circular vault is carried by warheads drawing a cross decorated with symbols célèstes “the symbolic system, Eds which I know "). It makes during with the hand of god supporting the repercussion of warhead symbolizing the whole universe, i.e. creation. le_puy2polignac_184

On the left one can see a small character scanning the door. He is the twin of the alchemist of Notre-Dame of Paris. He is the maitre, the follower who takes care and observes. He is the guard of the door

The door received, in 1847, a lintel found at the time of excavations, carrying the inscription: Scutari dad Lives Deo, thus giving the name of the architect, Scutaire. Its sepulchre, of pagan origin, shows on a formerly exposed face with the public, a sun, emblem of Mithra. (I would not be astonished that in lower part the old place of the mithriaque worship is).st_michel_bourges_le_puy_v_zelay_014_edited

With the top of the tympanum, a plank of “S”, which one finds in the foundations of the cathedral on the level of the Roman vestiges. The “S” are separate from/to each other by a vertical bar. It any more but does not remain to read: - ISISISIS-. Celà can also represent energies leaving the place.

One thus finds this plank in the court giving access to the bell-tower. That one is with the top of frescos representing of the lions driving out of the stags and the hinds. (again Mithra, one finds also the snake hidden under a hind). st_michel_bourges_le_puy_v_zelay_011__1600x1200_

These blocks date from I er century and decorated the first temple which enclosed the dolmen. It is there too that the well is. It is today condemned, but formerly had the fame of a miraculous water, like in fact faith the inscription located on the wall at the top of the carved blocks: “Fons aperture divina languentibus is medicina subveniens gratis ubi deficit ars Ypocratis”” by divine work, this fountain is a medicine which provides free for the patients where the art of Hyppocrate is missing ". A whole program…

This water surely comes from the source which spouted out close to the dolmen. More dolmen, more source, more miracles…

The Eastern access of the cathedral us reserve a surprise: it is necessary to pass under a porch to the particular name, which exists since the XII ème century, Grateloup. Under the arch, an embedded stone was hammered. It represented Hermès ithyphallic, of Roman origin. It surmounted a small fountain which one still sees the weep hole.polignac_191

Approximately, the pagan topic of fertilizing virility did not rain in everyone…

Some steps further, the holy baptistry Jean, of Xème century, of which the entry is affublée of two carved lions, representing the guards of the threshold. (Symbolic system of initiation which passes by the fact of being devoured by a monster, swallowed by the lions, for renaitre with the new life of the initiate) It is built on the ruins of an old Roman temple dedicated to Diane.polignac_202

From there, one can see in entirety the bell-tower of seven stages, whose each angle is affublé of a character vêtu to the mode of the XII ème century, and who outline gestures which one can interpret like initiatory.

They are accompanied by a head of animal (ram, bull, lion, the fourth angle being embedded in the cathedral.

One can see there Keroubim placed by god with the four doors of the paradise. They defended the access with blazing swords of them. The bell-tower takes its place of pillar of the world.polignac_189
